Question Profession Changing.

Yes, I know, another profession changing post.

I would just like to know the exact process to change secondary professions, and how much it costs.

I am a Lvl 18 Necro/Ele and want to change into a Monk.
Currently in the desert (although I have access to the forge).

My main question being, do I have to wait much longer before I can change my profession? And how do I change my secondary profession to a Monk? Is there an easier way to do it (paying someone?).

I have also heard a few posts about losing skill points. Does this means that points invested into your old secondary profession disappear as well? Or just the skills?

Thank you!

If you're playing Prophecies, there are two ways you can change your profession if you are ascended:

* You can change your secondary by talking to the Profession Changer in Great Temple of Balthazar.

*There are also quests in the desert you can do:

Hope that helps

You do not lose any attribute points.

Any points that are currently in your secondary proffesion attributes when you change secondary proffessions are returned to your unspent attribute count.

Don't you need to be ascended to use the profession changer?

As you said you have "access" to Droks, I assume you got a run there? In which case, you need to complete the 3 desert missions, Ascend, then take the quest from Vanyi at Droks. You then need to either travel back to the desert outposts and do the secondary profession specific quests for free secondary changing or, as above, pay 500g at the prof changer.

You are very close. Do the Thirsty River, Dunes of Despair and Elona Reach missions (bring cap sig, you can get your first elites here unless u capped at droks area). Then you go to Augary to do the final one where you get ascended (kill doppleganger). You then go do the dragon lair mission (again bring a cap sig), after which you go to Droks. Then you talk to Vanyi as said above and go back to the desert to do the 2ary profession unlock quests (easy). There is no charge to change 2arys in prophecies, only quests that you need to do for each profession. Check for the ! in all the non-coop mission towns (I forget the names of the towns).

Then you can change 2arys willi-nilli. If you are 2ary Ele, and change to monk (for example), you will have only starter monk skills and need to invest skill points to buy monk skills. Then if you later want to go back to ele, you simply just switch back using the "K" and change professions and all your ele skills will be available.

I had the same fear the first time I did it, about 2 yrs ago, and confirmed in chat "youre sure, youre sure...ooook" You lose nothing in changing professions. In factions and Nightfall, in order to unlock professions you need to just pay 500g per profession once you reach a certain mission in the campaign.

Hmmmm after writing that it doesnt seem you are very close. Dont worry you are in the area where you change professions, hahaha.

Also remember to get the two 15 attribute point quests. One is in one of the desert towns, the other is from Vanyi after your do the 2ary stuff.

If you're playing in Prophecies, do the desert quests to unlock the secondary professions; they're pretty short quests, doing them will save you the 500 gold you'd have to pay otherwise, and you get XP from them. I went this route on my necro so I have free access to the other 5 core professions. I'll probably buy access to the other professions at a later date...

Just an FYI, in case you didn't know, but you can change to any profession you've already unlocked, for free, by choosing it form the drop-down menu in the skills menu, while in any town or outpost...
